About the instrument

The Crystal Powderdose is a general-purpose solids dispensing/weighing robot. Using either the incorporated touchscreen or nearby computer station, users can program this robot to weigh out solids. The robot is housed inside the CSC’s inert atmosphere MBraun double glovebox, next to the Savant Speedvac and Mantis robot for dispensing workflows.

Scientific apparatus

Key capabilities of the Crystal Powderdose include:

  • Ability to queue up to 3 trays or microtiter plates with SLAS footprint (288 vials using 96 position trays)
  • Dispensing of up to 7 solids autonomously
  • A high-sensitivity Sartorius weigh sensor providing readings to 0.1 mg
  • Dispensing ability down to 1 mg with precision to ±0.1 mg (dependent on solid being dispensed)
  • Improved accuracy and precision with Chembeads
