Leadership
The Vice Provost for Research works with the Research at Yale team in the Office of the Provost to encourage and support Yale research, innovative interdisciplinary scholarship, and groundbreaking discoveries, which are expanding human knowledge and helping to improve the human condition.
Science and engineering research takes place all over the Yale campus. Together with partners in Yale’s administration, in the schools, and in centers and institutes, the Vice Provost for Research leads a team of colleagues to advance the university’s research mission and oversees several central offices that support research endeavors all over campus.
The Vice Provost for Research has broad responsibility and oversight for the review, development, and implementation of policies related to the organization and execution of academic research. A critical mission of the Vice Provost for Research and the research team in the Office of the Provost is to identify and ease practical impediments to interdisciplinary research, to ensure best practices for education, training, and guidance to promote the responsible conduct of research and to ensure compliance in all areas of research administration across Yale University.
