  10. Vice Provost for Research Michael Crair has announced to the research community that Yale Ventures has expanded the Yale Startup Licenses for use by members of the university community developing new ventures based on Yale intellectual property.

  11. Anna Marie Pyle, Michel Devoret, and Samuel Moseley were elected to the academy, one of the highest honors bestowed on a U.S. scientist or engineer.

  12. Yale will raise its postdoctoral compensation for new and continuing appointments. The university will provide a one-time, one-year subsidy in the 2023-2024 academic year for Yale-funded postdoctoral trainees funded by grants or external fellowships to help offset the unexpected cost for individual research budgets.

  13. New 12-month research scientist and postdoctoral salary minima have been announced, effective July 1, 2023.

  14. Announcing the 2023-24 election process for the “9-over-9” salary program, which allows participating faculty to charge up to 4.5 months of their salary to grants and contracts during the academic year, coincident with when the effort was devoted to the project.
