About the service

Metabolomics provides screening of targeted (~650) and untargeted (~2500) metabolites. Options for more detailed analyses include volcano plots, pathway enrichment and KEGG network optimization data. Metabolomic data can be integrated with (user-provided) RNAseq using a metabolomics network analysis platform (IntOmix), for an optimized pathway analysis of relationships between metabolites and enzyme transcripts.

Please note

The typical turnaround time for data from these services is on average 2 to 3 months for the initial analysis but can vary depending on laboratory work load and the complexity of the study. For advanced metabolomics analysis or integrative -omics analysis, please allow for an additional 1 to 3 months depending on the number of comparisons.

LC/MS/MS global metabolomics and intOmics studies

4-mode metabolomics

  • Internal: $250/sample
  • External: Please request quote

This service is our standard targeted and untargeted global metabolomics platform. Each sample is run on 2 different liquid chromatography columns (Hypercarb and Reverse Phase) in both positive and negative modes for a total of 4 sample runs per study sample providing our most complete metabolomic coverage. Sample costs include LC/MS/MS supplies, LC/MS/MS sample plate preparation, sample plate run, peak integration and data processing with basic data analysis and data interpretation. The basic analysis included in the LC/MS/MS cost per sample includes PCA and PLSDA plots, heatmaps and 50 top metabolites based on a p value of <0.05 when 2 cohorts are compared (1x1 comparison). Additional sample group comparisons will be charged as a per-hour study assistance fee (please see rate below) where each additional comparison requires one hour of time.

2-mode metabolomics

  • Internal: $195/sample
  • External: Please request quote

This option offers cost savings for targeted and untargeted global metabolomics but does not provide full coverage. Each sample is run in 2 modes only, typically Hypercarb negative and Reverse Phase positive with only 2 sample runs per study sample. This service is recommended if only certain metabolites are of interest and can also be measured in just 2 modes (please inquire).

Study assistance/Additional sample group comparisons

  • Internal: $115/hour
  • External: Please request quote

For additional sample preparation assistance or additional sample group comparisons that does not fall under the global metabolomics services described above is based on a per-hour fee.

Additional study assistance is required for samples other than cells submitted in the standard 6-well plate that require extra time-consuming steps such as rodent plasma/tissue processing. For additional sample comparisons, please list comparisons on the sample submission form or send your request via email.

Additional costs

Advanced data analysis (1 comparison):

  • Internal: $345/analysis
  • External: Please request quote

Advanced in-depth data analysis beyond what is offered in the basic analysis includes volcano plots, pathway enrichment and KEGG network optimization data for each 1x1 comparison of study cohorts (i.e., Ctrl vs drug, WT vs Mut, etc). The price for this analysis is based on the number of comparisons desired, where each comparison takes approximately 3-4 hours.

Advanced data analysis with intOmics

  • Internal: $690/analysis
  • External: Please request quote

Advanced data analysis with intOmics provides everything that is offered in the metabolomics advanced data analysis described above in addition to in-depth intOmics data analysis merging metabolomics data with RNAseq data (provided by user). This additional service provides upstream processing of raw RNAseq data for quality assurance, alignment, and quantification. These data are then merged with the metabolomics data on an IntOmix platform providing the additional transcript information to the metabolomics network optimization. The price for this analysis is based on approximately 6 hours of analysis time.

Method development

  • Internal: $700/day
  • External: Please request quote

An additional fee for method development of new metabolites not currently in our standard targeted metabolite library will be applied if required. Generally, 3 new metabolite standards can be optimized per day. Standards are to be provided by the customer for this service. The price for this analysis is based on study assistance and instrument time needed for typical method development of 1 to 3 standards maximum.
