About the core

The Yale Center for Research Computing (YCRC) is a computational core facility under the Office of the Provost created to support the advanced computing needs of the research community. Our team of research scientists, application specialists, and systems administrators has expertise in supporting high performance computing (HPC) and computationally dependent disciplines.

YCRC administers a state-of-the-art cyberinfrastructure, provides sustainable research services, and facilitates an interdisciplinary approach to the development and application of advanced computing and data processing technology throughout the research community.

Our team's knowledge enables us to address a broad spectrum of research computing needs, including helping to craft a request for proposal, assessing computational requirements of a project, advising on and installing software, offering customized training, and installing and assessing support options. Similarly, the YCRC is available for consultation on computational equipment within a grant and can provide assistance with quotes for new research computing purchases.
