New Senior Director of Faculty Research Management Services (FRMS)

Darlene Jones has been named Yale’s new Senior Director of Faculty Research Management Services (FRMS).

Dear Colleagues,

I am pleased to announce Darlene Jones as Yale’s new Senior Director of Faculty Research Management Services (FRMS).

In this role, Darlene will lead FRMS in partnering with faculty across the university and units within Yale’s research administration area to provide high-quality service and support in pursuit of research excellence. This includes building necessary research infrastructure and capacity (especially in support of campus-wide contract, grant, and pre- and post-award compliance and management), streamlining organizational and structural workflows and implementation practices, and leveraging university resources to facilitate new and breakthrough ideas.

Darlene comes to this role with a wealth of experience and a strong track record in research administration, most recently serving as the director of finance and administration for Yale’s research centers and institutes. Previously, she has held senior administrative roles in the Yale School of the Environment and the Divinity School, as well as a variety of accounting and financial analysis roles since first joining the university in 1998 and returning in 2006 after a two-year stint at the University of New Haven. She holds a degree in Business Management from Albertus Magnus College and, in 2018, completed the Yale School of Management’s Women’s Leadership Program.

Please join me in welcoming Darlene to this new position and looking forward to all she will help us accomplish.

Sincerely,

Michael Crair
Vice Provost for Research
