About the instrument
The instrument is intended for imaging large cleared specimens, such as organoids, whole brains, and other internal organs of small mammals. The system can accommodate samples with a maximum lateral dimension of 40 mm x 65 mm. It can also be used for imaging expanded samples and, in certain applications, live specimens where ultra-high acquisition speed and environmental control are not required.
Key features include:
- 445, 488, 561, and 642 nm lasers
- 1.6×, 3.6×, and 9× objectives with numerical apertures (NA) of 0.1, 0.2, and 0.3, respectively.
- Resolution: 1 to 3 µm depending on the objective used.
Speed and data size: higher resolution results in increased acquisition time and larger data volumes. For reference, imaging an entire mouse brain with the 3.6× objective typically takes approximately one hour and generates about 150 GB of data per fluorescence channel.
