About the service

The microbiology service performs aerobic and anaerobic bacterial culture, identification, optional antibiotic sensitivity and resistance, and fungal isolation from blood and tissue specimens from animals within the Yale vivarium. Examination of fur and fecal samples for ectoparasites and endoparasites, respectively, is available and can be requested.
