Our topics and meeting schedules vary from semester to semester. The continuing curriculum is reading program for ethnographic monographs on Japan, which we usually read and discuss in pairs over a two-year cycle. This is supplemented by other readings, according to student interests and needs.
Additional resources include:
- a more complete list of ethnographic monographs on Japan topics
- a roster of Japan anthropologists
- a listing of English-language dissertations in anthropology on Japan, 1937-2006
- short reading program for articles in Japan anthropology
Every year we have a number of campus visitors whose work is relevant to our seminar, invited under a numbere of auspices. Here is a page with some references and resources that pertain to this year's visitors.
These resources have been prepared and are maintained by the instructor. Suggestions, emendations, and corrections are always appreciated. I apologize for any mistakes or omissions.
