Project
Organization
PRORENA
is led by a Committee of Principal
Investigators, including the Project Director and
two representatives each from the Yale School of Forestry
& Environmental Studies and the Smithsonian Tropical
Research Institute. The Committee of PI's is advised by
a Steering Committee
consisting of 6 domestic and 6 international
advisors.
The
work of the project is carried out by the Nursery
Section (responsible for nursery research and
production) the Field Research Section
(responsible for both socio-economic and biophysical field
research), and the Business Development section
(responsible for conducting financial and policy
research, and for developing reforestation business models).
Field
research is managed through 2 Field Offices
in Cocle and Los Santos Provinces, and from the main project
office in Panama City (see Where
We Work). These three offices manage the project's
four Core Research Sites (CRS) and associated
Satellite Research Sites (see Research
Programs).
