Introduction
The Journal of the Lepidopterists' Society is a quarterly scientific journal of The Lepidopterists' Society. It contains refereed scholarly papers on the biology of moths and butterflies, taxonomic revisions and species descriptions, general notes, book reviews, and other information. The journal has been published continuously since 1947.

Articles from all but the most recent 5 years of the Journal are freely available on this web site as scanned portable document format (pdf) files. The site is best viewed with Mozilla Firefox set to 'Western' encodings, and the pdf files are best viewed with Adobe Acrobat Reader 7. If you have a reference to a specific article, you may use the Browse feature to navigate to the appropriate pdf by viewing the table of contents from each year.

Alternatively, you may perform a full-text search on all online pdfs (over 3,000 articles spanning 50+ years) using the Search feature. This interface performs a Google search of the full text and returns a list of the articles most closely fitting your search terms.

If you notice any scanning mistakes, including missing or out-of-order pages, skewed scans, or mislabeled files, please describe the problem in an email to this address. Remember to include the name of the flawed file.

Phonchit Khotsuwan assisted with scanning and pdf production, and Allison Hsiang assisted with post-scanning processing of the pdf files. Database design was assisted by Richard Bondi, and Jonathan Rees offered advice on web site and file processing logistics. Naomi Pierce provided logistical support for the project.
