Additional Notes on the Data

The online holdings for Anthropology include ledger data for all catalogued object lots. Images are also available for subsets of the ledgers, most of these being for Latin American material (many of the images were acquired as part of a collections digitization grant received from the National Endowment for the Humanities [NEH PH-20726-95]).

    CatalogNumber. In the Anthropology collection, object lots are catalogued with a one to six digit number (e.g., YPM 10219), occasionally followed by an upper case letter (e.g., YPM 10219A).

    Description. The verbatim catalog entry for the object lot.

    Materials. The materials comprising the object lot. The list of available material terms presently includes the following:

    Locality. A composite of the country, state (equivalent), county (or equivalent), place, and latitude & longitude, as available. Latitude & longitude are ordinarily given to the nearest minute.
