David S. Ellum

Coordinator of Research and Demonstration, School Forest

David is a current doctoral student studying the related effects of forest canopy structure and silviculture practices on landscape-level, groundstory floristic patterns in New England forests. He is investigating how the life history traits of herbs, forbes, and ferns contribute to the functional and structural diversity of naturally regenerated, mixed-species forests in southern New England. As Coordinator of Research and Demonstration, David is responsible for managing the school forest research infrastructure, and the development, implementation, and maintenance of demonstration sites.
