The digital atlas is a tool that stores large amounts of photographic data. Each image is linked to a picture ID which can be used to retrieve information on the date the photograph was taken, a short description of the photograph, and GPS coordinates which can be used to locate the place the photograph was taken on a satellite image or GIS layer.
